This lavishly decorated psalter is a masterpiece of twelfth-century European bookmaking. In addition to the Psalms of David, where only the first one is included in this internet edition, the book contains a calendar and a prayer.
The manuscript has been kept in Denmark, and may very well have been produced for a member of the Danish royal family.
The manuscript contains a considerable number of illuminated initials, and a cycle of full-page illuminations featuring scenes from the life of Christ, including his Birth, Crucifixion and Resurrection.
